Microneedling

Collagen induction therapy, also known as microneedling, is nearly painless and has been shown to have incredible effect on the health and beauty of your skin. The concept is simple, by inflicting thousands of imperceptible injuries to the top layer of skin, the body is encouraged to produce additional collagen and regenerate the surface layer with fresh, unblemished skin. It’s no surprise it’s becoming one of the most popular beauty treatments around.

Did You Know?

Microneedling is essentially performing the same process accomplished by using lasers, but does so without the application of heat or light. The process is instead mechanical, and produces some amazing anti-aging effects by encouraging the body to rejuvenate itself. Additionally it has a lower downtime and doesn’t lead to the same photo-sensitivity as can be experienced with the laser treatments.

Radiofrequency Microneedling is a minimally invasive microneedling treatment augmented with targeted, highly customized radiofrequency that stimulates the natural production of collagen. RF Microneedling can effectively diminish the appearance of acne scars, decrease the appearance of skin laxity, decrease the appearance of wrinkling, decrease the uneven pigment found in melasma with a vascular component, and improve overall skin tone and texture. This procedure can be used to tighten and tone the face, neck, and body. It is safe for all skin types.

An initial series of 3 treatments scheduled 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for best results. An annual maintenance treatment is also recommended for longer-lasting results.

Adding Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) to your RF microneedling treatment can help improve the rate of healing time and accelerate the treatment results. PRP is highly recommended for acne scarring treatment.  PRP can also be injected into specific trouble areas to help reduce the prominence of scars, wrinkles, sun damage, and dark circles.

This procedure is a quick, safe and effective procedure performed by one of our highly skilled practitioners. Prior to the procedure, your practitioner will apply numbing cream to the treatment area to increase comfort during your treatment. During the procedure, you will feel a slight heating and some pressure on the treatment area. For most patients, the treatment is comfortable and your practitioner will monitor this throughout your session.

We usually recommend a course of 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results. Many patients report noticing an improvement after their second treatment, however, full results are usually visible three months after the last treatment.

Skin may appear flushed or swollen post-treatment for 3-4 days and we recommend avoiding makeup for this short time. All normal activities can resume after the treatment.

Absolutely. One of the best things for damaged skin is an influx of new collagen, an influx that occurs when the skin is treated with microneedling. Collagen has been shown to help reverse sun damage and help with discoloration. Even more amazing is that this process has been shown to be effective in the treatment of melasma, a condition in which hyperpigmentation results in brown blotching on the skin.

Absolutely! While poking your skin full of thousands of tiny holes may not sound like the most intuitive way to shrink your pores, but the results speak for themselves. Pores actually dramatically reduce in size as a result of the plumping effect of renewed collagen, making them appear smaller or completely closed.

Microneedling can be done anywhere on the body where you want to see shrunken pores, tighten skin, and renewed elasticity. Most treatments of this type are only able to be used on the facial area, while microneedling can be done anywhere you have stretch marks, acne scars, or just aging skin you’d like to see rejuvenated. Some of the most popular locations are the back, legs, and butt.

Not only can you use microneedling on scars, this process has shown incredible restorative effects when used on patients experiencing acne scarring. If you’re looking to address particularly severe scars, you’ll want to speak to your dermatologist for treatment. Using specially designed microneedling equipment they’ll be able to help you restore elasticity and vibrancy to your scars, reducing their visibility dramatically.
